Here's a quick side by side of the two designs created by James Kagel for Friday the 13th Part 4. At right is a latex copy of his original sculpt that was used in pre-production to create the two machete-hit dummies and the cowls worn by Ted White. At left is a revision created during production that was used for the appliances worn by White at the end of the film.
Only realized recently that the two sculpts are about 75% identical. Kagel added mass to the left cheek, brow and eye; the center bulge at the top of the forehead; the dorsum nasi and tip of the nose; the contours of the right cheek and chin; and (not pictured) removed some mass from the back of the head and slightly altered the shape. The rest of it appears to be identical.
I can see why he did it though. The final sculpt definitely looks cooler.
