Jacques Plante with an Original Fibrosport
This photo, from the blog Puckstruck, shows Jacques Plante, creator of the original goaltender mask later recast and modified for use in Friday the 13th Part III, with one of his creations on the face of a young player in 1970. Though the basic shape is the same, this particular youth model had a different arrangement of vent holes. The mask that later became an iconic symbol of horror was produced by Plante's company between 1969 and 1976.
